What is Impregnation?

Impregnation is the process of impregnating various chemical substances into the body of wood using different methods.

With this process, it is aimed to increase the service life of the wood by protecting it from pests such as fungi, insects, worms. The impregnation substance penetrates only the sapwood part of the trees. Due to the tissue density of the heartwood, the impregnation solution does not penetrate the heartwood of the tree. The heartwood part of the trees is naturally durable. The wood to be impregnated must have sapwood. The impregnation process varies depending on the type of wood, the environment in which it will be used and the expected service life.

As the name suggests, the dipping method involves completely dipping the wood into a tank filled with impregnation material and then leaving it to dry for 24 hours. The method is fast, efficient and economical. Since the dipping process takes less time and results in lower labor and storage costs, it is cheaper than the pressurized system. Dipping is recommended for the protection of unassembled wood.
It is a protective agent.
It aims to prevent the tree from getting wormy and infested with insects. For durability, it is recommended to preserve the impregnation properties for a long time with varnish processes.
It colors the wood to some extent due to the color of the impregnation material, but it does not function as a colorant.
It has a 1-2 year protection in covered areas (e.g. camellia).
It has a 6 month - 1 year protection feature in urban equipment elements such as pergolas, benches, picnic tables.

Filling Varnish

It is a varnish that fills the pores of the wood by being applied on the wood, and acts as a primer coat by reducing the consumption of the final coat varnish to be applied on it.

> It reaches the hardness to be sanded within 2-4 hours after application (It may vary depending on the air temperature and humidity.).
> It fills the pores of the wood.
> Provides surface smoothness.
> Saves time and material by reducing the absorption of the final coat varnish to be applied on it.
> Easy to sand.

Glossy Varnish

Provides the desired gloss and slipperiness to the surface it is applied to. Physically; hard, resistant to scratches and impacts, chemically; resistant to water, detergent and other chemical agents,It is a final coat varnish with a glossy appearance. It is vivid and has high transparency.
